The refugee child, holding her mother fast,
The reclaimed felon, fleeing his past,
The rainbow people, no longer outcast,
The enslaved captives, not chained to the mast,

The young black man, allowed to run in the night,
The Asian neighborhood living without fright,
The virus contained and reduced in might,
The grieving mother seeing justice done right,
The advocate minister showing us light,

The call for freedom to ring,
A fire beacon for the tempest tossed and homeless to bring,
Rockets red glare for a nation to sing,
A noble eagle flying on wings,
A land of hope now forever springs, Free at last,

Free at last, Thank God Almighty, we are free at last.
