The cover photo was taken at Salt Point State Park.

My daughter and her family go there for tide pooling — that's where at low tide, you can see the sea stars and lots of sea critters.

And for those of you who can't stand the heat in California, being so close to the northern Pacific Ocean, it goes down to 50°F even in mid summer.
