'though my headlights' in the future, my mirror looks behind
It's 20-20 hindsight of a year that's much maligned.
20-20 hindsight of the 2020 year
It's 20-20 hindsight and I won't shed a tear.

We learned the word pandemic, masks became the fashion
Became all so common that that fashion caused a ration.
It's the year our trips were cancelled, to the world and to the mall
What a year it was like nothing I'd recall.

Climate changed so fast and if you did inquire
You'd seen what once was Paradise had disappeared in fire
You'd seen so many on the streets that tents were hard to find
With evicted queued in every town to join the quarantined.

Who could forget the lies and lies and the media's deceit
The riot on the Capitol steps born from a vengeful tweet
All of this went on and on with- out any vacation
As we waited for the FDA to approve a vaccination.
