Could Radiation
Be Killing California's Kelp?

Arnie Ward, a retired engineer and long-time diver has been noticing the die-off of the kelp off the California coast in Sonoma County.

Several years ago, he purchased a n underwater camera and a radiation monitor and surveyed kelp both in the water and the kelp that had washed on shore.

Ward assembled his information and created a YouTube video, Fukushima Radiation in the Pacific Ocean: Collapse of Ocean Ecosystem in Sonoma County, that documents his observations. See his video by clicking on this video link.

His hypothesis is that residual radiation from the damaged Fukushima Nuclear plant in Japan has slowly washed its way across the Pacific Ocean and is now contaminating the California shore— even being noticed in Sonoma County grapes.

So far, the authorities are writing it off as being due to global warming.

Let me know what you think and I'll pass it to Arnie.

Thanks,
Al
