As the Covid quarantinish continues into—what is it? Seven or so months? We are adapting—especially with no end insight.

We made it through the 110°F heat waves and the smoke from the wildfires—and of corse, the season is supposedly just beginning.

I bought an air quality monitor ahead of the wildfire smoke, so I've been able to be a bit more aware of what's going on with the wildfire smoke and particles.

Swimming pools are closed, but I've been taking dips in the American River. Our YMCA pool has been closed. Hope it opens soon.

I've been working on a host of new songs. I'm teaching a course in songwriting and it is going well. I have an outdoors sing a-long group and that's going well.

This morning at 1 am, I participated in a songwriting seminar from Brisbane, Australia, and in two weeks, I have a weekend-long songwriting seminar out of Yosemite.

Since we moved to California, Adele and I have been able to see our daughters and grandkids at least once a month.

And we've been doing a lot of cooking. I just made a honey-apple strudel.

Which reminds me—it's Rosh Hashanah — Happy New Year.

Thanks,
Al
