Well, now Adele is back from Ball and we're planning a trip to my previous stomping grounds of Jim Thorpe, PA.

And I just signed up for a song writing course near Yosemite National Park.

I also finished my first class teaching song writing at the Sac State Renaissance Society.

And I have been getting good turnouts at my Wednesday afternoon sing a-longs in Sacramento.

And I've been going to about a half dozen jams. It's getting to be a bit, so I'm starting to cut back.

During my working career, I found that I wasn't really interested in engineering but I liked project management. I guess, I'm more of a big picture type.

I kinda thought of myself as a pretty decent conductor but not all that good as a musician.

That was my metaphor at the time, but I think that has come to be my new reality—I'm playing a number of instruments: guitar, baritone ukulele, harmonica, native flute, keyboards and drums—and I'm not very good at any of them.

Maybe that's what led me to song writing. As I've been doing journalism/writing for 20 years, what I bring to my newfound interest in music is my ability to write.

Someone has to do it.

Thanks,
Al
